Today would have been my mom’s 75th birthday, but today is also ten years ago that the very first prompt of Wicked Wednesday went live. I am proud to look back on ten years of running the meme, and of all the people who have linked posts over the year, even if they don’t anymore.
Top 3 for week 522 by Marsha Adams
It would have been super easy to pick three (or four) posts by two of my favourite writers, but I tried to widen my scope this time by choosing three stories where the relationships between the characters captivated me.
A Mystery Date with a Stranger: All Roped In by Liz Black
This one wasn’t much of a stretch: I’ve loved this series on Tantalizing Tales, with Fabiola having her fantasies unexpectedly fulfilled by the mysterious Master Thyme. Her willingness to surrender herself to her own desires, and his confident encouragement, create a wonderful exploratory dynamic.
Moon Feather: Part 41: A Little Bit of the Other by Dancer in Chains
I don’t keep up with this story so I expected to be lost, but I’ve jumped into the right chapter. No back story was necessary to understand and enjoy this very hot… dark romance? I don’t know quite what the relationship between Joey and Everett is, but it sizzles.
Night Vision 7 by Jerusalem Mortimer
There’s six chapters of back story I’ve missed, but there was sufficient context written into part seven to let my imagination fill in the important gaps and build a picture of an intriguing relationship. A short but very sweet slice of playful BDSM smut that makes me think I’ll enjoy part eight as much as Stephanie.
Look back on the past ten years of your life and share your highest and lowest points with us.
When you write and link your post, consider linking it to other memes too. You can find current prompts and memes on the Blogable calendar.
As always, you are welcome to link any stories or posts that don’t follow the prompt!
