It’s always wonderful to welcome back friends to the roundup of Wicked Wednesday, which is what I am doing this week, welcoming back HisLordship (HL) for the roundup of last week’s prompt. You can find HL writing on his own site, or you can follow him on Twitter. He also runs The SafeworD/s Club together with his wife, Missy. If you are into kink, make sure you pay the site a visit, and attend some of the online chats!
Top 3 for week 494 by HisLordship
As I am always happy to do anything for Marie and so judging Wicked Wednesday #494 was an easy yes. It should also go without saying that having to take the time to read all the great entries is a treat also as normally I skim-read a lot of material for my job! I’m sure everyone that has judged WW in the past knows how hard it is to choose, and of course it’s purely subjective.
So here are my top 3;
The Last Ones by Old Mark struck me due to perceived loneliness of a vampire. A different take on what we read as vampires being dominant and powerful! This is a short piece, however, it is structured in such a way that the ending should be a surprise, but it’s not!
The Kiss of Death by Sass-C for me wrapped together the spooky and romantic. I like the way the main character became aware of the shadowy figure and came to see that as normal to such an extent that was seduced by it, she embraced it.
Blood Lust by Marie Rebelle – It was the detail in this piece that captured my imagination so quickly. I love the reference that although being bound in ropes, the villain has left slight slack to give the victim false hope. His observations of the steps he goes through both torment her, and him with clear intention. Great piece.
Last week the prompt was ‘Werewolves & Vampires’, which made me think we could do this one too: paranormal.
When something is said to be paranormal, it means it’s beyond the scope of scientific understanding. Share your thoughts, experiences, or opinions about the paranormal, or write a story about paranormal activities.
When you write and link your post, consider linking it to other memes too. You can find current prompts and memes on the Blogable calendar.
As always, you are welcome to link any stories or posts that don’t follow the prompt!
