I thought it was about time I do the roundup again, and have also decided to do it more than I have done it for the past years. After all, this is a meme I created, so I can’t always leave the roundup in the hands of others, right?!
I want to take this moment to thank all of you who have supported Wicked Wednesday in the past months. Thank you for continuing to link up and sharing your sexy and thoughtful posts. Just a reminder: the prompt is never compulsory; you don’t have to follow it. Write whatever you want, or share an image, put the Wicked Wednesday badge on you post and link. Everyone’s welcome!
Top 3 for week 429 by Marie Rebelle
There were some lovely and sexy posts last week, many of them following the prompt, but there were three posts that stayed with me after I have read them. Those three — in no particular order — made it to my top 3.
The World Beyond is Burning by Liz Blackx
Reading this I felt hope, and despair, then hope again. It made me think about the situation in the world, the situation far away from here, but also close to home. It made me think of how inside my home I can shut out the world, but that even if I do, the world is still there, and some things will just not get better if we don’t do something about it. A powerful, thought-provoking post.
Syncope by Carolyna Luna
My heart went out to Carolyna when I read this. I recognize some of what she wrote in myself, the little details such as a bra and shoes while managing a crisis, but also the anger that no one made sure her son had shoes on before they put him in the ambulance. I read this, and totally understood her anger. I wanted to hug her. And when I saw the things she’s grateful for, I wanted to hug her again. This post was written by a strong woman, a woman who will not break.
How I Became a Woman by Eve Ray
This is another powerful piece, and I couldn’t help but think in the end: be careful what you wish for. I found myself nodding in places, and appalled at others. As I read on, I wasn’t prepared for the end (although I probably should have been) and only one word remained when I reached the end: WOW!
Think about that painting you once saw, the one that captured your attention; that made your mind wander… now sit down and write about it, either about the painting, or the story that came to mind when you saw it.
Or take a moment in time, and ‘frame it’ by sharing that moment in writing.
As always, you are welcome to link any stories or posts that don’t follow the prompt!
