Prompt #412: Lock-down

For the second time I am welcoming the handsome HisLordship to the roundup, which he previously did for week 373 (read it here). We didn’t get to meet in March this year as I had hoped, but I remain hopeful to see him and Submissy again some time. In the meantime I just keep on reading his blog – especially his fiction!

Top 3 for week 411 by HisLordship

[Life] Trust The Over Thinker by Floss Does Life
I loved the way Floss in her own unique style manages to pack a lot into a small space. Her journey through key relationships and the need to overthink things in life take you through some twists and turns before arriving with the most recent partnership. During lockdown relationships can be strained, however, is it new relationship energy or the magic of her new man that calms the overthinking Floss?

Mature and Motivated by Marie Rebelle
Probably excluded more often than not from her own creation of Wicked Wednesday, I found the insight into Marie’s and Master T’s relationship heart warming in time of global disruption. Whilst admitting that they never argue, there is disclose that both do not always agree, and yet they have learnt to communicate openly and honestly. Facing adversity through illness and external pressure pulls them closer together to support one another and make them a very good team. Some good lessons for us all!

7 Days In April (Day 3) by MLSlavePuppet
This snapshot in time during a 7 days window gives insight and exposure of how our lives are so extremely different under similar restrictions. Torn between her own anxiety and the behaviours of people living with her, ML has to make some tough decisions. I chose this particular piece above others submitted in the same project due to the feelings expressed of both decisions and potential repercussions.

Prompt

Although located all over the world, most of us are now experiencing some form of lock-down due to the outbreak of COVID-19. For many there are also extended statutory periods of social distancing both before and after this. How has this affected your life? How have you adapted what you do to reflect the way you are living currently? Although some of your usual activities will not be possible, has it allowed you to be creative and try new things? Please share your experiences for this week’s Wicked Wednesday, and since this is another special collaborative topic, you can also link your post to Tell Me About (12-25 April) and Food for Thought (21-26 April).

As always, you are welcome to link any stories or posts that don’t follow the prompt!

The roundup for this week’s prompt will be done by Marie Rebelle.
