This is the third time I am welcoming the gorgeous Eye to the roundup of Wicked Wednesday, as she has also done it for week 285 (read it here) and week 330 (read it here). Eye is one of the kindest people I know, and she always as a gentle word of wisdom for everyone. Not only is she kind, but oh lord, she’s sexy too. You can find her words and images on her blog, or follow her on Twitter.
Top 3 for week 393 by Eye
I love the period leading up to Christmas known as Advent. Ringing with special songs and accompanied by age old traditions we are led into the darkest, longest night through its long, green tunnel, smelling of spruce, spices and orange peel, into the place where the light dwells to light our way back to the Springtime.
My choices this week are based around this sense of the year, the posts below evoke it and work on all our senses to bring the gift of Christmas delight to us all.
An advent diary by Julie
Julie’s Advent Diary was light hearted and engaging, full of descriptions in very taut and well-paced prose. I loved it.
Advent by Toy for Sir
Advent reminds us that although ritual and tradition can seem unchangeable the reality is that life moves at its own pace and winds its own way. This wistful piece of writing made me consider the changes in my own life at this time of year and reminded me to be grateful for the fun I have had creating a Christmas for my family in the past.
List In A Bucket ~ A Christmas Tale by May More
May’s List in a Bucket was equally well-paced and descriptive. The characters are written with emotional intelligence and compassion. Christmas is traditionally a time to tell a ghost story and this was an exploration of the way the past haunts us but reminds us to seize what we have and enjoy it.
I hope you enjoy my choices, there were so many this week that it was hard to choose! Do give the others a read.
Christmas is just around the corner, and Santa is looking for those who have been nice this year, or is he looking for the naughty ones, because he too likes a bit of naughty? Share your stories about being naughty ‘n nice, or share even if you don’t follow the prompt!
The roundup for this week’s prompt will be done by Marie Rebelle.
