An image of Doris Day and the words said by her: "I liked being married instead of the girl who's looking for a guy."

Prompt #368: Doris Day – A guy is a guy…

He doesn’t write as much anymore as he did before, but Andy Harding still has his sexy and romantic stories on his website. It’s a delight to welcome him to the roundup for Wicked Wednesday, as despite not writing at this moment, he still supports all the others who do. You can read his stories on his blog, or follow him on Twitter.

Top 3 for week 367 by A.M. Harding

It’s been very long time since I was a regular contributor to Marie’s WickedWednesday but I’ve never stopped following and enjoying the contributions, so when I was asked to choose my favourites I was truly thrilled. Of course once I started reading the submissions I realised what a difficult task it actually was to choose just three of them. I spent a very hard night (read into that what you will) reviewing all of the submissions and whittling it down to a handful.

The three I’ve settled on are the ones that I enjoyed the most but there are so many others I could have picked. I’ll try to leave feedback on your posts in the coming days. So, in no particular order my favourites were:

Relax By Isabelle Lauren
This ticks so many of my boxes. It’s well written, beautifully paced and draws you further in with each passing sentence. I felt a voyeuristic thrill, as if I were there and watching this tender display. Superb.

Mirrors by E T Costello
I enjoyed this very much indeed, it has many elements that I enjoyed and they were stitched together so well that I wanted more, much more. I truly felt as though I was there, right in the middle of the action.

My final choice is something that appeals on many levels, it features shared fantasies, outdoor sex, multiple partners and demonstrates just how comfortable the writer is with everything about herself and her sexuality. My notes for this piece simply read “Oh yes!”
It is Twice the fun by Marie herself.

On the day Doris Day passed away, this song played on the radio, and I immediately knew it would be a prompt for Wicked Wednesday. I love the rhythm, love the story she tells, and just generally loved Doris Day. Write a (vintage) story following the theme and feel of the song, or about Doris Day, or about the quote above, or about love… and as always you can also link stories that do not follow the prompt!

The roundup for this week’s prompt will be done by E.T. Costello.
