This is the first time I am welcoming mynaughtyideas to the roundup of Wicked Wednesday. Her blog is all about writing, and her latest story is all about artificial intelligence and already had quite a number of sexy twists. You can read this story, and others, on her blog and follow her on Twitter.
Top 3 for week 363 by mynaughtyideas
First, thank you so much for letting me give my perspective on the top 3 this week. As someone who focuses on fiction, it was a pleasure to have my emotions ripped open so many times by the raw emotion that some posts evoked in me.
Friendships – Toy for Sir
“All friendships struggle. That is what makes them stronger. At some point, you have to decide if your effort is worth it. I am learning this the hard way, still.”
I have felt the same as Toy through so many friendships in my life. The friends that betray me, the friendships that sometimes feel labored and I know I can count on at all times, as well as the friends that everything hasn’t always been easy, but it’s almost never been tough.
A True Friend – Molly’s Daily Kiss
“I am sure many people would be bemused by my friendship with Cara Thereon, after all she is basically my husbands girlfriend but over the last 2 or so years me and her have developed a really close friendship.”
Even though Molly is talking about her husband’s girlfriend, I think we are all looking for someone that we can connect with over the people and values that we find most important to us. Through that shared connection, it was great to read about their wonderful friendship.
Friendly Concern – Exposing40
“Then the searching “Sooo, how are the love lives then?” directed at me and one other single woman with the hungry gazes of two women who have been married for years and want you to give them something new and exciting to pore over.”
I remember when one of my former colleagues, someone I consider a great friend, first found out about my non-monogamous life. There was a mixture of curiosity and judgement that took a while for her to move beyond and realize that there is genuine happiness in the life I am living.
What rituals do you have, and how have they changed you? Transformed you? Or are there rituals you feel nothing for, like marriage or baptizing a child? Or maybe there are rituals that intrigue you, that are mysterious and ‘out of this world’. Share your thoughts and stories on rituals, or link your stories even if you don’t follow the prompt!
The roundup for this week’s prompt will be done by Jayne Renault.
- The rules for this meme can be found here and you can download the Wicked Wednesday badge on the same page.
- Don’t forget to add the Wicked Wednesday button to your post, post on your blog and come back here to link your post. You have from the moment the prompt appears until Thursday 10.00 pm (Amsterdam time) to link your post below.
- Please note that it is not compulsory to follow the weekly prompt. It is only here for inspiration when you need it!
- Please make your stories no longer than 1500 words.
Thank you for participating and please, don’t forget to visit and read the other entries too! We all love to receive comments on our entries. Spread the love!
