A talented photographer and writer of thought-provoking blog posts – that is who Exposing40 is to me, but not only that. She is so much more, and someone I love to see at Eroticon everytime we go but I never get enough time to talk to her. Maybe we can change that in 2019.
Exposing40 has also done the top 3 for week 256 (read it here). She was the first person to do the top 3 when I asked for others to help me with this, during the time my mom was ill. It’s wonderful to welcome her back. You can read her words or see her images on her blog, and follow her on Twitter.
And, just as a side note, I have to tell you that you all have made me SO happy with the number of links last week. 34 in total! The last time there was 30 links was for week 200, which was back in March 2016! I am starting to believe again that one day I will get the 50 links I have been hoping for ever since I started this meme back in June 2012.
Top 3 by Exposing40
I think I was the first person to do a Wicked Wednesday round-up when Marie opened it up to guests. Sadly, I very rarely get chance to sit down and read all of the Wicked Wednesdays. People are so generous with their commenting in this community that when I have participated myself I always make the effort to read and comment on a few, but so often the working week races by and prompts that I have ideas for go unresponded to and I only really get chance to read the top 3 when it’s announced on the Saturday. So setting aside a whole evening to just read felt like a real luxury!
My top three are:
Losing Control, Gyspy Tangerina guesting on May More
There are a few moments that I look back on now with the benefit of two decades hindsight and think ‘what if?’ I found this post really moving for how it captured the feeling of lost opportunities and the way they stay with us, even years later.
Letting Go, Jayne Renault
I couldn’t pass by the sentence “Little cotton mosquitoes flitting on the breeze, preparing to fly into my ears, bite at my face from all sides, no doubt.” and not choose this post. I’m never going to think of snow in the same way again. But I also love how it manages to gently capture an urgent feeling.
A Bumpy Ride: First Time Pegging, Scandarella
I haven’t tried pegging but it’s something that’s been suggested to me more than once. I definitely want to and it’s something that features frequently in my fantasies. Something that’s so great about this community is how honest people are about their experiences and how they enable others to learn from and be reassured. This was one of those posts.
If writing is thinking and discovery and selection and order and meaning, it is also awe and reverence and mystery and magic.
~ Toni Morrison
If you write words to share with others, whether on a blog or in books, in my eyes you are a writer. Share what writing means to you, why you write, what it brings you.
As always you can also link stories that do not follow the prompt!
The roundup for this week’s prompt will be done by Brigit Delaney.
- The rules for this meme can be found here and you can download the Wicked Wednesday badge on the same page.
- Don’t forget to add the Wicked Wednesday button to your post, post on your blog and come back here to link your post. You have from the moment the prompt appears until Thursday 10.00 pm (Amsterdam time) to link your post below.
- Please note that it is not compulsory to follow the weekly prompt. It is only here for inspiration when you need it!
- Please make your stories no longer than 1200 words.
Thank you for participating and please, don’t forget to visit and read the other entries too! We all love to receive comments on our entries. Spread the love!
